On Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10.00 - 12.35 Western Indonesia Time, the Civil Engineering General Lecture (for Undergraduate and Post graduate programs) was held by inviting Prof.Ir.Iswandi Imran,MASc.,Ph.D , who is a Professor of Structural Engineering at ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung). The theme of the Generak Lecture is the 2019 SNI-1726 Application on Earthquake-resistant Building Structures. The general lecture was opened by the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. M. Ridwan Anas, ST, MT and attended by various components of the academic community, both from USU and from outside USU. Acting as the host for the general lecture was a student of Civil Engineering Undergraduate program, Raisha Tassa and as the moderator was the Secretary of the Civil Engineering Postgraduate Program, Ir. Gina Cynthia R Hasibuan, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D. Alumni and construction practitioners from various alma maters and organisations/Agencies also attended the general lecture. The general lecture organised by the USU Civil Engineering Student Association (Ikatan Mahasiswa Sipil - IMS) was then closed by Prof.Dr-Ing.Ir. Johannes Tarigan who gave a virtual symbolic certificate to Prof.Ir. Iswandi Imran, M.A.Sc., Ph.D.

Pada hari Sabtu, 4 Desember 2021, pukul 10.00 - 12.35 telah berlangsung Kuliah Umum Departemen Teknik Sipil USU (Program studi S1, S2 dan S3) dengan mengundang Narasumber Prof.Ir.Iswandi Imran,M.A.Sc.,Ph.D , yang merupakan Guru Besar bidang Rekayasa Struktur ITB. Tema Kuliah Umum tersebut adalah Aplikasi SNI-1726 tahun 2019 pada struktur bangunan tahan gempa. Kuliah umum tersebut dibuka oleh Ketua Departemen Teknik Sipil Dr. M.Ridwan Anas, ST,MT dan dihadiri oleh berbagai sivitas akademika, baik yang berasal dari USU maupun dari luar USU. Bertindak sebagai host pada kuliah umum tersebut adalah mahasiswi Teknik Sipil USU, Raisha Tassa dan sebagai Moderator adalah Sekretaris Prodi S2/S3 Teknik Sipil, Ir. Gina Cynthia R Hasibuan,ST, M.Sc.,Ph.D. Alumni dan praktisi dunia konstruksi yang berasal dari berbagai almamater dan instansi juga turut hadir di dalam kuliah Umum tersebut. Kuliah Umum yang diselenggarakan oleh Ikatan Mahasiswa Sipil (IMS) USU tersebut kemudian ditutup oleh Prof.Dr-Ing.Ir. Johannes Tarigan (Guru Besar Teknik Sipil USU) yang menyerahkan sertifikat simbolis secara virtual kepada Prof.Ir. Iswandi Imran,M.A.Sc.,Ph.D.
On November 22, 2021, the seminar-I for Doctoral Student of Civil Engineering Postgraduate Program, Mrs. Rahmi Karolina was held at 14.00 Indonesian Time. Her dissertation title is Geopolymer Concrete based on Mount Sinabung Volcanic ash: Strength and Evaluation of performance in Aggressive Environments.
